Garden....the start

With a lot of hard work, the yard is nearly cleared, ready to be tilled.  We've spent the last week, organizing seed packets, mapping on the computer our garden using an aerial photo of our land, separating seeds by what needs to be started indoors, what can be sowed now and what month for each. Our goal last year was to make this happen but with many unforeseen events our garden wasn't a reality. But this year with the help of our kids who are extremely excited to grow their own food, we are at the beginning of a long journey to grow part of what we eat this year. This year we are starting with vegetables, in the future we hope to have some fruit bearing tree's, a plot of tree's for firewood and also a plot of timothy hay to harvest for the animals ourselves. But for now, one step at a time...

Life is a journey, from seed to sprout, growing life on this land as a family.
