Breaks in between Errands

We've had errands to run several days this week. Its been quite a busy week thus far and its only Thursday today, still yet things to do today and tomorrow before the weekend is here. But in between errands and chores we've enjoyed a lunch out on the river and spending a few minutes skipping rocks and putting our toes in to enjoy the cool water. We also enjoyed a full day yesterday where we had several errands but made stops in between each one to play at the park - 3 parks to be exact. The kids thought that was pretty awesome- 3 parks in 1 day. We swung together, our son rode his scooter, we played games, we ran, we laughed and we loved. Beautiful days together.

Good morning sunrise this a.m.... and a few pics captured from our breaks this week...

Fun in the middle of errand running! Love these two kids!

Weekending

Our weekend was filled with much family time. Saturday we ventured to the town a little more an hour away for a 4H event for our daughter. Once she was done we grabbed some lunch and headed to the park. Our son brought his scooter and our daughter her roller blades. Being cooler in the higher elevation it was a gorgeous day full of sunshine and a cooler breeze on our faces. It was SO incredibly peaceful and needed after a busy week. Sunday we had a quiet morning and then an afternoon/evening bbq with friends and their families. It was great to hang out, catch up and spend time together and let all the kids hang out as well.

Beautiful weather with my beautiful family.

Chicken Fun

My buddy boy and I have been hanging out with the chickens....its an every day occurrence. Some days we feed them and then just watch them for a while. Other days we'll pull out chairs and eat our lunch outside among them. Then in the evenings its always fun to check up on them when they're snuggling down for the night to go to bed. They are just fun- everything about them- their noises, the way they run, how they eat, when they cuddle to sleep. Yeah we love them.

We got a new girl added to our bunch....Meet - Sally.
Our son named her. It fits. She's settling in nicely with the group.

And just today our feed store in town blessed us with 4 huge boxes of organic lettuce for our animals. The stores couldn't sell them to people so they were donated to the feed store- and we just happened to be picking up some feed today and we were offered the packages for our animals. Chickens always do love a tasty treat....hmm organic too!
Blessed to be living the country farm life. We love our animals.

Park Fun

Pit stop at the park for some fun in between errands. Beautifully breezy- it felt good for a change. Sunshine on our backs we went on the swing, our son scootered and I took a video of the kids singing songs together...but unfortunately the wind was so strong that's all you could hear! So no sharing. The kids amuse me, amaze me....Teryn will start humming a song then all the sudden Jordan starts with the background beat then when she starts in on the words he's got the full back sounds going all with hums and pops- its kind of amazing. They don't even say to each other- hey let's sing this song- they just start, they just do it, its just natural- I love it. Such the duo.

Continually blessed to be a momma of these two.

Last Week...

The weeks seem to slip by us lately going so very fast. We haven't been unusually busy but still have been active. On the home front, conquering summer math review, playing board games, watching movies, trying to be outside when the temperature allows, finding yucky scorpions inside the house-scary. Outside the house, running errands, sneaking time in at the lake or river, signing out daughter up for dance, heading to her 4H smallstock clinic, hanging out with friends. Its been a good combination of stay at home and go out. When it flip flops in either direction we either go stir crazy craving some out door time or crave or family alone time at home together.

Quick storm upon us last Friday evening.

May your weeks be filled with love and laughter, hard work and play with the ones you cherish the most.

Happy Anniversary to...US!

Yesterday was also a happy day because we celebrated 16 years of marriage! We decided to spend it quietly at home, an at home dinner with our children and a family movie night = perfect. Because truly that's what is most important to us, our family. We do plan in a few weeks to sneak away for a dinner for just the two of us but for this weekend we wanted to spend it with our kiddos!

Marriage is full of both ups and downs, happiness, joy and love. Looking forward to spending 16 more years with this man, my husband.

Sharing!

Friends and family who don't follow us on Facebook I have a little bit of news to share.
I just took a step further with my health, well-being and fitness.

6 months ago, I took charge of my life and my health. I started eating better, doing at home workouts consistently and becoming a healthy role model to my kids. Little did I know at the time that this would truly become a lifestyle change and not only change me on the outside but on the inside so deeply as well. I can not express in words the amount of growth I have done personally, emotionally, in my soul because of this journey. Because I valued myself enough to change my habits, give my body healthy clean foods and dedicate 30 minutes a day to fitness- I have truly changed my life.

I have felt like I've always had a path. I've always been passionate about helping others, I worked in nursing helping the elderly, then with sick children, I then went into teaching preschool and then teaching parents of small children vital parenting life skills. After having my two beautiful children I realized that what I wanted first, and most, was to be a mother and to homeschool my own children. I began working from home doing office jobs so that I could help financially and homeschool our children as well. Through that time at home I began to focus solely on my children, my husband, and my work. What I didn't realize at the time was that I was not taking care of myself. By starting my journey to take care of myself I am truly becoming a better mother, wife, daughter and friend.

"It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are" truly resonates with me.
It is me now, taking who I am, deeply in my soul, and giving of myself to others. I want to help others become who they really are. Whether they have never found themselves, or whether they are temporarily lost like I was. I found myself, my strength, my confidence, my voice, through committing to taking care of myself. That's why I'm here taking this next step. That's what I'm pursuing...a commitment to helping others find health, well-being and fitness.
