Busy Fun

We've been busy.....I've forgotten at times to stop and slow down. To stop and capture moments. We've had some slow moments in between to enjoy the river, the fresh air, life and the beauty that surrounds us. But we've also been busy with activities, end of the year wrap up between schooling and extracurricular fun. We look ahead to next week...dances practice, dance recital, scouts, our son wrapping up the school year, making plans for summer fun learning, trips, vacations, birthdays, reading and more. Life is good.

Life is good, God is good. Thankful for every moment.

Last Month's Birthday

Finally got a few birthday photo's and wanted to save the memories here....
Last month our son turned 11. During our out of town trip he wanted to go to Seaworld and have brownies for his birthday party at his Grame and Grandpa's house. A great few days celebrating and spending time with family. Can't believe this sweet, big hearted, funny, smart kid is 11 now!

Blessed to be his momma.

Our Scout

A big night for our son at his pack meeting. He is officially a Boy Scout and earned the remainder of his Webelos awards and his Arrow of Light. We couldn't be more proud of this guy! He worked hard, stepped out of his comfort zone and is growing into such an amazing young man. Feeling so blessed right now to be surrounded by such wonderful other families and kids and so thankful for such a wonderful and patient, loving and understanding leader he was blessed with to help him grow.

Congrats to my buddy for all his hard work!

The last few weeks...

Its been a bit! We spent a nice long weekend out of town for our son's 11th Birthday with family. We ventured to Seaworld and the Lego Store and played at the park a few times too. Much needed and enjoyed trip to see family.

We recouped the week after our trip. The kids took it as more 'spring break' time. We relaxed, Momma worked extra. We still had scouts and young women's, ballet, all the normal activities. Last week we resumed schooling, learning and chatted about Summer quickly approaching. We've decided this Summer we will continue our 'schooling'/learning and kick in some fun science experiments that we've been wanting to do. We'll also dive into the Presidential Elections as well.

The weather has been gorgeous every day. Our son has been riding his bike to get the mail each day. He spent a few days cooking....blueberry muffins and helping to put a crock pot soup together for dinner. Our daughter modeled some new clothing she had gotten. She also performed with her dance group at the Rodeo in town. Easter came and went and we spent it celebrating the Lord together just the four of us, at home with a quiet day and quiet dinner. A few items for the kids and reading about why we celebrate this special day.

 Prepping soup...cutting up potato's.
 Baked by our son.
Sweet Sadie enjoying the beautiful weather.
Two of the Silkie girls thinking they can share a nest.
 "Peanut"

All dolled up to perform at the Rodeo. My beautiful girl.

Staying Home

Its been sort of a normal, stay at home, nothing out of the ordinary week for us. No extra trips, no visits to the water. We've been homebodies...and sometimes its good to have some time just to stay in, get things done, rest our bodies from the go-go. Our son was a little under the weather for 3 days this week..sleeping off and on, on the couch. Luckily he was on the mend enough to enjoy a movie and sleepover with a friend last night! Zootopia- so cute, our whole family loved it!

This weekend brings more friend hang out time...our son with neighbor friends and our daughter venturing with her church friends to go bowling and have lunch together. And then of course there's the weekly animal cage cleaning and animal related big chores to do as well! A little fun, a little work and definitely a lot of time spent together. We're also getting ready to go out of town next week to celebrate our son and my daddy's birthdays! So excited! Blessings this weekend friends, enjoy!

These kids! Such a blessing, both of them.

Last week...

The days, weeks, months seem to be going so very fast. Our son's birthday is approaching. Our daughter turning 16 this year. This last week was filled. It was filled with learning and schooling, with relaxing, reading and playing. Our son finished up some more of his cub scout requirements. Our daughter is planning a big sewing project and we went material window shopping to decide what was going to work best for her. We had our normal activities of dance and scouts.

Our son and I ducked out one afternoon for an impromptu river trip just the two of us. He decided to go in to his knee's...in his jeans. And we finished the week off on Friday heading out to a hike with our home school group and a park day afterwards- just what everyone needed, kids and adults, time with friends! It could not have been a more gorgeous day.

Yesterday, Saturday we had hoped for more sun but it was ducking in and out. We went out anyways and went to the lake near by for some fishing, dipping our toes in the water (our son got in to his waist), a game of Uno, rock skipping, reading, laughing and just hanging out before coming home to have a quiet movie night. Just in time too because as we were leaving rain drops starting coming down. A beautiful week and weekend. This morning the clouds graced us with a few more drops and now the sun shines bright as the house is still asleep. One more week and we head for California and we are all so excited to celebrate my buddies 11th birthday with family.

Chickens dirt bathing in our front planter...
Chicken Verde Enchilada's turned out so great this week, love new recipes!

Love being outdoors! Soak up the beauty, fresh air any time we can.

Camp Out / Girls Night

Last weekend was the big camp out...our son, hubbie and two of our son's friends camped in our backyard, a couple tents, a fire, cooking outdoors, tons of laughs and tons of fun. Our daughter and I 'camped' inside with a movie for a girls evening! Great weather, great fun for our weekend.

My beauty, my girl, trying make up tutorials.
Growing my hair....summer is coming, I feel a cut coming on!

Blessed with a beautiful life.
