Staying in one place

Catching up on posting on our family blog.

Written 7/20/2021:

Our travels have halted. Temporarily, permanently, we don't know. After a whirlwind of emotions, highs and lows for several weeks we can finally breathe. We can just be, and relax for a moment before moving forward which is a huge blessing.

We rented a house on a month to month basis to buy us some time. Time to pray, to figure out what is next, what we should do. Its interesting when you get rid of nearly everything you own, live in an RV small tiny space  for 4 months with 4 people and a dog you come to truly recognize what you actually 'need' vs things that are  just 'stuff, things that you can live without. We can live without a lot. Our basic needs and our family. Family is most important. The house we rented isn't big, it isn't in good shape, its the most run down shack on the neighborhood street- - but....its a roof over our heads, there's a hot shower, kitchen to cook in, fridge to keep our food cool, its at a cost that let's us save, the street over is lined with fields, trees and cows and beauty, and we have some amazing kind neighbors. The house provides what we need. We are grateful and extremely thankful. I shamed this house when we first saw it - how could we live 'here'. But as days go by my heart overflows with all this house provides us and my heart, mind and soul has changed its tune. I see it in a different light. I don't know what will happen, where we will go, where our lives will go, what our future holds in this moment, but I know we were planted here for a reason and we have time. Eternally thankful and feeling so very blessed.

Things I enjoy the most in the season of our lives-

Long morning walks with  our Ernie pup in the quiet. I leave the neighborhood of houses and venture to walk him along the street next to us that lines the cow fields with tons of oak trees and green grass pastures. There are deer that can be seen and the sky is always a gorgeous sight.

Day drives with my husband just the two of us to explore. Whether it be lakes or down country roads. The beauty surrounding us astounds me. It compares to the overwhelming beauty of this earth we felt in Idaho. I love nature, wide open spaces, big trees and seeing farms along our drives.

Family time, family days whether at home over a meal or out at the Zoo or a nearby lake. Even walks around the neighborhood and chatting.
