Recouping, Sea Monkey Growth, New Babies

After our week vacation then two days back to back with dad celebrating more the kids both came down with colds and I've felt back and forth whether I was going to catch it or not. Its been a lay on the couch, read a lot, watch movies, snuggle, nap kind of rest of our week. This weekend, no plans are made, just thoughts of putting away the clothes from the suitcase- finally...laundry, room cleaning, playing with animals and getting out in the yard to rake-if we are feeling that adventurous and well.

Getting back from vaca our son was excited to see the growth on his sea monkey's. We also brought two new little ones home- meet 'Alice' the Texel Cavy, 4 weeks old and 'Usagi'- Usa for short, the Black Dutch Doe Rabbit, 7 weeks old.

A quick trip to the library to turn in over due books proved a great idea- Momma got to pick up this beauty on the for sale shelf for 0.25! Score :)

 Resting with pups.

Happy Weekending to All!

Another Celebration Day...With Daddy

How many days worth of partying does one little boy get? MANY! Being daddy didn't come on vacation with us due to work we celebrated with him the day after when we got home. Enjoying his b-day present from his dad and I, the boys set up hay bales and a target and got to shooting...the evening brought fishing at the lake, again nothing caught but that was our son's pick for his b-day celebration to go fishing with the family. Fun as always- testing different bait out, pointing out birds then in the evening small bats, hiking, exploring, telling fishing stories. Much fun together as a family to celebrate another year older.

Another year older this amazing boy of ours.

Vacation, Birthday, Rabbit & Cavy Show

The week always goes by too quickly when we are enjoying time out of town with family. My 'little' boy turned 9 yesterday. Where do the years go....they go by soooo very quickly. He is growing into this amazing, smart boy. He has a huge heart for animals, sensitive and loving and is incredibly smart, making up stories and games, figuring out how things work and putting things together- he has a love for anything science or math related and is enjoying birds immensely right now. This kid melts my heart with his smile and I'm so grateful he's not quite too old to sit on my lap or want to be tucked in at night still. I'll cherish every moment I can get until he decides he's too grown for those things. On any given day when the weather is nice, you'll find him outdoors..collecting, holding a chicken- or two, climbing a tree, digging a hole- getting dirty! Love my boy!

A great week enjoying family!

A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for all to find and see.

Vacation Day - Seaworld

Out of town for our son's 9th birthday, one of his requests was to go to Seaworld. He loves sea life, especially the rays...he loves all the tide pools- touching everything, feeding everything. We walked the grounds, no shows or rides for us, just the animals- and he wanted to read each and every sign, soaking up all he could about every animal then discussing with me things he had seen or previously learned from books or documentaries. Our daughter enjoyed the day immensely as well, joining in on the conversations.

A lovely fun, learning day.

Every day is a great day with these two amazing kids.

Feed Time, Pack Time, Birthday!

Weekending....started off to a wonderful beginning, supporting our friends at a horse show. It's wonderful to see these girls out there, so confident, working so hard. Beautiful on the inside and out with these animals. After a bit of visiting we left to run errands for our upcoming Monday trip...then home to clean cages, clean house and begin to get ourselves and our animals ready for the trip. Looking forward to finishing today, working hard then enjoying the road trip tomorrow.

How many cavies can you fit around 1 feed bowl!? 6 boys eating nicely together...

 The girls...
Starting my boy's birthday banner- each year they choose their theme, paper, colors, everything and I go to work and make it- He choose LEGO, so we have a red ribbon to hang the letters and he wants to print out some LEGO pictures for it as well and a pic to go inside the 9....still can't believe one week from today he'll be 9 years old.
Where does the time go?
Excited for tomorrow, by the afternoon we'll be greeting family and enjoying time with them..its been too long!

Mini-Van, Bunnies, Trip

Whew am I happy the week is wrapping up- so much work to do this week to make sure I don't have 'as much' to do on vacation next week...plus we got the deal finalized and bought a mini-van (used) which took all week to finally drive off the lot today. Trying to clean, pack, get animals together for a show, plus still have some studies packed in the mornings... yikes its been quite crazy! And we were just sent two super sweet pictures of our daughters possible new bun she's purchasing for 4H. We are all looking forward to swimming tomorrow and getting things finished up around here to drive out of town Monday.  Oh and note to myself I still have birthday gifts to wrap and a birthday banner to make for one special little boy turning 9!

Busy but looking forward to the week ahead with family and friends and fun.
